Overview
CampuServe ("we", "our", or "the app") is a hyper-local campus delivery and errand marketplace. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.
Information we collect
- Anonymous account identifier. When you open the app we create an anonymous account (via Firebase Authentication) so we can save your role and errands. This does not require an email, phone number, or password, and is not tied to your real identity.
- Your role. Whether you use CampuServe as a student or a runner.
- Errand details you enter. The title, pickup location, dropoff location, budget, and notes for errands you post or accept. Please do not include sensitive personal information in these free-text fields.
We do not collect your name, email, phone number, precise GPS location, contacts, photos, or payment card details in this version of the app.
How we use your information
- To let students post errands and runners accept them.
- To show the status of an errand to both parties.
- To keep the app working reliably and secure from abuse.
How your information is shared
Errands you post are visible to other signed-in users of the app ("The Pool") so that a runner can accept them. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
Service providers
We use Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) to host the app's backend and store errand data. Firebase processes this data on our behalf under Google's terms. You can review Google's privacy practices at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Data retention & deletion
We retain your errands and profile for as long as your anonymous account exists. You can delete your own errands from within the app. To request deletion of all data associated with your account, contact us at the address below and we will remove it.
Children's privacy
CampuServe is intended for university students and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.
